Listed on the National Register of the Historic Places, the old Hana Courthouse, located on the grounds of the Museum, is still used today, with circuit court sessions held on the first Friday of each month to handle small local matters like traffic citations.
The back room of the Courthouse, in what used to be the sheriff's office, now houses the studio for KOKO Radio, Hana's own low-power radio station broadcasting in Hana town on 96.3 FM, and streaming online worldwide at KOKOLP.org.
Behind the courthouse is the Hana Lockup originally built in 1871.
We have plans to restore the Courthouse and make sure it is preserved as an historical building, as well as a functioning courthouse. Should you be interested in helping support our efforts, please contact us directly.
